Ichtershausen, 10. Juni 2010 - Masdar PV has decided to extend its staggered performance guarantee for its products from 20 to 25 years with immediate effect. The minimum stabilised rated power of 80% is therefore now guaranteed for this considerably longer period. Masdar PV is thus underlining the high quality of its products as it continues with its rigorous expansion strategy. At the same time, the company is taking into account the needs of its customers and is securing their investment in the long term.
The company’s production line at its Ichtershausen plant deploys high-tech equipment for producing thin-film solar modules. In particular thanks to the use of extraordinarily fine glass and an unbeatable quality assurance programme, the company has now created the prerequisites for extending the performance guarantee. The use of innovative laser edge deletion has also considerably contributed to the high product quality. In addition, each individual solar module is subjected to a voltage test in a highly conductive water bath to test it in terms of its durability. The successful test results mean that it is possible to guarantee the long-term functionality. With its fully automatic manufacturing process, Masdar PV is therefore able to ensure a consistently high production quality.
The company can therefore decrease the power reduction rate of the solar modules produced, giving it a competitive edge in terms of production quality. Investors value the innovativeness and long-term yield prospects offered by Masdar products, particularly due to the improved calculation basis for their own business.
Frank Wouters, CEO of Masdar PV, is delighted to be able to grant this performance guarantee: “We have established a very good starting point and invested in state-of-the-art plant systems. This enables us to offer our customers high quality products that will continue to achieve an excellent performance level in 25 years. For us this is an important argument in order to continue developing and consolidating sales in future.”
