Oldenburg, Prenzlau, October 16, 2009. aleo solar AG today announced that it will strengthen its presence in the French market by opening a sales office to handle the significant upturn in business in the country. Starting October 16, business in France will be managed by an office in Aix-en-Provence. Jakobus Smit, CEO of aleo solar AG, expressed his satisfaction with the new development: "We have achieved a successful positioning of the 'aleo' brand in France during the last 14 months. Specialist dealers and installers are keen to experience aleo's quality, service and added value."
In the last few months, aleo solar AG has won several megawatt-scale orders in France. Since the feed-in tariff is higher for building-integrated photovoltaics, aleo solar has developed its own in-roof system: aleo's Kit_3000 is an all-in-one photovoltaics package with all of the parts needed for a roof-integrated 3 KW photovoltaic system. Simple and rapid installation is guaranteed by 16 high-yield aleo modules, an SMA inverter, the Solrif mounting system and a lightning protection system. Strong interest was generated by aleo's presentations of the Kit_3000 this year at trade fairs in Lyon and Paris. Our strategic partner for this solution is the inverter manufacturer SMA.
Six aleo sales representatives provide local support for installers – whether based in France's mainland regions or in its overseas départements. The aleo dealers are all members of the "aleo power network," a community that offers photovoltaics know-how and marketing support. Training is provided for many specialist subjects – from system layout and economic viability analysis to the mounting of solar power plants. At these centers, installers can acquire the "QualiPV" license they need to install photovoltaic systems in France.
France is already a key market for aleo solar, and sales volumes will increase still further in the future. Jakobus Smit is optimistic about the French market: "In 2008, installed photovoltaic capacity amounted to around 105 megawatts. Calculations made by the European industry association EPIA predict output to multiply to as much as 4,300 megawatts by 2013. For a country so focused on nuclear power, this marks a significant shift to renewable sources of energy."
